Now I understand why I have two really good friends. You can talk to everyone, on the street, at the store, but what's really important usually doesn't come out often. I prefer to read and do things at home or go to museums. I do wish my father was still alive, because I'd like to discuss what I'm reading with him. But I find I don't spend a lot of time with people, unlike my husband, who has several very good friends with whom he does almost everything.
Thanks for encouraging us think more and more, while I am also in this path whenever I diverge due to busy work time that stole everything from us- I return back to your video- you shine and keep the light for me to back again! and think more, I don’t think so your life is ordinary as long as you keep the light that you believe for others.
I fully agree - and I think we have this freedom in general terms if we are on the luckier side of life. However, if one struggles with sustaining themselves financially, often, it remains a beautiful dream, this self-determination.
I agree but haven't had a lot of success. I end up spending more time thinking about how I'd like to live life than living it. Also, I feel frustrated when I realize that living on my own terms is something destined to fail. I'm starting to feel that living is like constantly swimming against the current, and be content keeping the distant shore in sight.
Easy to do when you are young. When you get old, that’s when problems and regrets will pile up.
I actually think we need a UBI for people older than 50. Before that age, you can do whatever you want. This freedom will propel a lot of young people to live out a more exciting and fruitful life, as opposed to working and saving for (early) retirement. Enough will still sell their lives to careers and corporations to chase the illusions so that the whole UBI scheme will work out.
To be free to "surrender to what is real within you", you must first answer, "if it’s the best way to live," because if it's not, then maybe it's okay to live in the box and only surrender occasionally.
